Carmelle D. Dieleman

ASSOCIATE COUNSEL

Biography

Carmelle Dieleman practises all areas of workplace law, including labour, employment, workers’ compensation, and human rights, in addition to conducting workplace investigations.

Carmelle represents clients in both the public and private sectors and has appeared as counsel in various courts and tribunals, including the BC Human Rights Tribunal and the BC Supreme Court.

Prior to working with Mitha Law Group, Carmelle was Legal Counsel with the Legal Services Branch of the Ministry of the Attorney General, practising in the area of human rights, and in-house counsel with the Provincial Health Services Authority in the area of labour and employment law. Carmelle was previously a Review Officer at WorkSafeBC, where she adjudicated reviews of workers’ compensation decisions. Earlier in her career, Carmelle articled and practised at a full-service firm. 

Carmelle obtained an LL.M. from the University of British Columbia in 2019 and a J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2013. Her graduate work and academic writing focuses on the intersection of the Charter and the administrative justice system.
