Biography

Eva Vervoort is a senior paralegal, with extensive experience managing commercial litigation, employment, labour and human rights cases.

Eva possesses a thorough knowledge of the rules of practice and procedure for all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Federal Court of Canada. She is extremely organized and detailed in her work. On a day-to-day basis, Eva provides a supportive role in managing all aspects of a file, including communicating with clients and other parties, gathering and reviewing evidence, managing document production, drafting pleadings and court applications, and trial preparation.

Eva has experience assisting with cases in the Provincial Court of British Columbia (Small Claims), Supreme Court of British Columbia, British Columbia Court of Appeal, Federal Court of Canada, Federal Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada. Eva also assists regularly with numerous tribunal matters such as labour and commercial arbitration boards, the Labour Relations Board, the Employment Standards Tribunal and the Human Rights Tribunal.

In addition, Eva has experience with managing electronic discovery cases, including assisting clients with the collection of electronically stored information (ESI) and other litigation documents, managing the review, analysis and production of documents, and maintaining the database.

Eva is a member of the British Columbia Paralegal Association (BCPA), British Columbia Legal Management Association (BCLMA) Litigation Support subsection, and Association of E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS).

Prior to joining Mitha Law Group, Eva was employed as a paralegal by Western Canada’s largest employer-side workplace law firm.
