Thomas v. Vancouver Free Press Publishing Corp., 2019 BCPC 9

Successfully represented an employer in a court action involving a dependant contractor claim. The worker sought wrongful dismissal damages as an employee or, alternatively, dependent contractor. In spite of the fact that the worker had done work for the company for 28 years, successfully argued that the worker was an independent contractor and therefore not entitled to damages. The Court dismissed his claim.
